Not many young DJ/producers hit milestone after milestone like this guy. 2017 definitely was the year Mark Villa made his mark on the scene. Besides some heavily supported solo’s the youngster teamed up with international superstar and friend Jonas Blue. Their collab ‘In Your Arms Tonight’ has passed well over 1M plays on Spotify and entertained crowds on festivals like EDC Las Vegas and Tomorrowland.
2017 was also the year of the remixes since Villa was asked to remix Laidback Luke & Made In June ft Bright Lights – Paradise on Dim Mak Records, give his personal take on Cash Cash feat Conor Maynard’s ‘All My Love’ and even Alan Walker x Noah Cyrus x Digital Farm Animals hit ‘All Falls Down’ got the signature Villa treatment that colleagues have fallen in love with.
Closing 2017 with a bang; Laidback Luke and Mark teamed up for ‘Rise’, the lead single of Mixmash Records’ first ever family album. Premiered by Billboard Dance, ‘Rise’ got featured in huge Spotify playlists and is supported by industry heavyweights like Hardwell, W&W, Tiësto, Oliver Heldens, Avicii, and many many more.
But, spending countless hours in the studio is not the only thing Villa is doing. When he was only 15 he played sets at Tomorrowland Belgium, and Parookaville, Germany! Making a big impression on the crowd with flawless sets and a great record choice, Villa states: ‘Performing is definitely the cherry on the cake after countless studio hours, I enjoy it to the fullest and love to connect with my fans!’.
2017 furthermore adds playing the epic club Bootshaus in Germany, another Tomorrowland show, three ADE shows and two gigs in Indonesia to this list. Soon, the media also picked up on his success. Featured on Dutch TV shows, front pages of newspapers, international blogs and doing a live set on Q-music (on of Holland’s biggest radio stations), it will only be a matter of time before Villa will make his way to international main stages all year round!
When Dutch DJ/producer Mark Villa, Martinus Haase, first got his hands on electronic music production programs he was only 8 years old. Inspired by Avicii’s melodic progression in ‘Fade Into Darkness’, Martinus slowly but surely started to develop his craft. Eventually, at the age of 14, he was ready to show to the industry what he was made and attempted to join a Mixmash Records demo drop at Dancefair. Within a relatively short time, Martinus showed progress in his producing skills and in 2015 his first release Venture hit the scene! The record got support from the likes of Laidback Luke, Don Diablo, Blasterjaxx, David Guetta, Jonas Blue and blew away crowds at UMF @ Miami and many other international stages. A smashing start of his career and Villa even got compared to Martin Garrix by certain influencers.
With a unique sound design, his releases played by the biggest names in the industry, his work hard produce hard attitude and busting out tracks that make people want to get up and get down, make Mark Villa one of the talents to watch in 2018.
